some things never change
Jul. 20th, 2009 12:23 pmNiou-kun and I had dinner with my parents on Friday evening. Yakiniku (one of Niou's favorites) and soba (one of mine) with some carrot cake (my father's) for dessert. (Yes, Marui, I brought home as large a piece as my mother would let me.) My sister, Rei, was at volleyball practice and could not attend.
They expressed concern that I was working myself to death. I tried to explain that working on another doctorate and working at the hotel was not killing me. It's not nearly as demanding as working at a hospital. Besides, my boredom was put toward something worthwhile. Though, as my mother put it, "Do you really need another medical degree?" I cannot say I disagree, but it keeps the mind sharp.
As usual, my mother fussed over Niou-kun and asked about everyone else. I said everyone was fine, mainly because I did not want to give them too much information that I did not feel comfortable sharing.
