It's a short seminar day tomorrow, so my father and I are going to hit the green in the afternoon for a short round. So far, the topics have been interesting. Mainly new developments and medicines. I believe Thursday will have the surgical advancements.

Jan. 23rd, 2010 10:23 amMy flight leaves tomorrow morning at 6am. Meaning a wake up time of 4:30 to get to the airport on time. My father is coming into Tokyo tonight from Yokohama. I believe we'll be having dinner after my shift, but that is entirely dependent on when his train gets in.
Before I leave for the next week, is there anything I should bring back as souvenirs? Grass skirts, leis, and coconut bras will be purchased aplenty. Marui, I cannot bring back desserts. My apologies in advance.

A conference I'm looking to attend will be upon selected topics in internal medicine. Seeing as it was my first doctorate, I find myself interested. Also, my father will be going. I will attempt to take my golf clubs with me if I go. Mainly to take in a day of golf with my father when we aren't attending a talk.
Plus, it's in Hawaii. I rather enjoyed Las Vegas when the hotel went as a whole for vacation, but since it is winter still, I'd rather take my chances for a full round in a tropical location than on the East Coast.

I think I shall turn off my laptop and phone tonight, turn on Strauss and read a good mystery while nursing a glass of wine.

Jackal: This espresso maker.
Yukimura: An advanced level English teaching CD set.
Yanagi: A state-of-the-art PDA.
Jirou: A bed set with 5 extra-fluffy pillows.
Cupcake: A set of cupcake-shaped eating/drinking dishes.
Oshitari: A bulk size package of cough drops (pick the flavor)

I wrapped up my Christmas shopping a few days ago. I've stored the presents away from the hotel so certain people won't be inclined to snoop. Marui, I'm looking at you. I kind of hope is snows on Christmas. Though, it will mean an influx of idiots patients in the office. I don't wish to subject Oshitari-kun and I to that.

Bored begets baking

Now to get rid of all the baking I did last night. Does anyone want any of the below?
- 2-layer chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting
- single layer yellow cake with whipped chocolate frosting
- strawberry cake with whipped cream frosting and strawberries on top
- cheesecake brownies
I was quite bored after my shift ended.

End of the season
Nov. 16th, 2009 10:18 amI'm still alive, although there were a couple of times while Marui steered the golf cart that I thought we might roll over. The course in particular is familiar enough to me that I did well and ended up with -4. Not my best, but definitely falls within my average. With the weather turning colder, I think I'm going to put up the golf clubs for the year.
I've finally started reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I hope it's as good as his other books.

settling back in
Nov. 8th, 2009 11:03 pmI've finally settled into my new apartment. Masaharu helped me unpack. It's different. I miss my old room a little, but I'm closer to Masaharu now since he's next door and I think that will be good.
I've done a lot of reading. I've finished my Christie collection yet again, so I've decided to try learning French again. The books are on my nightstand and I've added the audio lessons to my iPod for when I go to the driving range.
